PRESS RELEASE: PROTEGA PROMOTES PAPER PACKAGING SOLUTIONS AT LOGISTICS SHOW

Innovative paper solutions for reducing the use of plastic packaging will be on display to visitors attending IntraLogisteX 2023. Protega Global Ltd will be showcasing its pioneering Hexcel range of products at the exhibition that are not only environmentally friendly and sustainable but also designed to improve warehouse efficiency.

In addition to award-winning Hexcel Wrap, a ground-breaking, sustainable paper alternative to plastic bubble wrap, Protega will be promoting Hexafil, a quick void-fill solution that can be deployed at the touch of a button. Then there is the Minipack, a desktop version of Hexcel Wrap aimed at lower volume suppliers, and the revolutionary Hexcel Stretch, a paper pallet-wrap: a plastic-free alternative to traditional pallet wrapping material.

Protega will also be demonstrating the integrated Hexcel bench dispenser. Hexcel paper is simply passed through a pair of rollers and onto the bench at the optimal position for packers. Ideal for where floor space is limited, the design maximises the usable area of the bench and dramatically improves efficiency.

Hexcel Wrap also works in combination with the FSC certified, 100% recycled paper cushioning that Protega provide. The innovative and super-fast paper cushioning dispenser, made here in the UK is a great solution for packing stations, is easy to load, height-adjustable and simple to use. Paper void-fill is known for its ability to reduce breakages by up to 60%, and these two eco-friendly products together are a sustainable replacement for plastic bubble wrap and airbags.

All this action will take place on Protega’s stand i1510 at the logistics industry’s showpiece event on March 28-29 at the NEC in Birmingham. Combining a sustainable product with a bespoke, integrated packing area allows businesses to improve speed to market, reduce packaging waste and create a seamless end-to-end packaging solution entirely manufactured in the UK.

The closer to home the packaging is produced the lower the carbon footprint. Additionally, the rolls of Hexcel wrap can save up to 80% of space when compared to aerated plastic wrap giving you both logical and logistical reasons to switch to eco-friendly paper.

Paper bubble wrap is suitable for a wide range of sectors, including food and beverage, personal care, household, pharmaceutical and chemicals. It offers equivalent protection to plastic air bags and bubble wrap but without the environmental impact. The robust and reliable Hexcel range helps eliminate product movement inside boxes and has a track record of reducing breakages by 60%.

An efficient method for packing fragile goods without the requirement for a power supply or adhesive tape, the Hexcel Wrap’s interlocking honeycomb design is 100% recyclable, can speed up packing times by up to 50% and lower operator footfall for replenishment. The benefits of switching quickly add up.

Director, Richard Steedman said: “We’re thrilled to be exhibiting at IntraLogisteX. I’m confident we’ll get the same positive reaction to Hexcel Wrap as we did at Packaging Innovations 2022 where we won the event’s Most Innovative Product award. We’re passionate about offering the most sustainable packaging material – paper. Paper bubble wrap absorbs shock from movement both inside and outside of the box, making it ideal for handling goods in warehouse operations.”
